Biography of Patrizia Gucci
Patrizia Gucci great-granddaughter of Aldo Gucci and daughter of Paolo Gucci, represents the fourth generation of the well-known Florentine family.
She began her career working as the International Public Relations representative for the Gucci family business and later also worked as a designer for the company. During this period, she revealed herself to be skilled in many disciplines. She successfully opened 13 Gucci shops worldwide to represent the family and organized conferences to promote the image of the Gucci name, in the world
In 1996 she started to work as an independent designer, designing a collection of leather furniture.
She soon began to design her own brand of fashion accessories Patti Patti, launched initially in Japan. This was quickly followed by a line of equestrian clothing for an American company, and a variety of lines for several European fashion companies, including articles for home decoration. PG has extended her design talents further by decorating interiors of houses in Italy.
She has worked closely with Italian broadcasting companies Mediaset and Rai on a variety of projects.
Patrizia Gucci also began to dedicate herself to painting and her artistic talents were celebrated with her first exhibition in Bahrain, her second in Florence at Palazzo Antinori, then in Vienna 2004, Budapest 2009, followed by many other exhibitions.
Most recently, one of her mosaics artworks has been installed in the Presidential Suite of Istanbul’s new Four Seasons Hotel.
In 2005 PG was invited to the Institute of European Design in San Paolo, Brazil to show her latest collection of ceramic tile mosaics and to discuss her talent as a designer in many fields.
Other activities include her monthly column as a journalist for the Italian Women’s magazine ”Donna Moderna” and she is the author of four books: one bestseller “Il piccolo libro della semplicità” published by Mondadori, sold over 70,000 copies; in 2004, “Single. Il fascino della Donna Libera”; in 2006, “Charme. Diario di una seduttrice (quasi) irresistibile,” published in Italy by Sperling and Kupfer, and released also in Spain, Hungary, Argentina, and Chile. Patrizia’s latest book, “ Benvenuti a Casa Vostra” by Anteprima /Lindau was published in June 2012.
In January 2009 Patrizia successfully launched a collection of bags, all made by local artisans in Florence, under the name PATTI PATTI Bag. In September 2009 she continued designing a collection for Spring / Summer 2010, and is currently working on her latest Spring / Summer 2013 bag collection.
